MICHAEL DAVIS

TOUGH. HONEST. CONSERVATIVE.

Justice Mike Davis, a proven conservative judge, veteran, and lifelong East Texan, today announced his campaign for election to continue serving on the Twelfth Court of Appeals.

Appointed to this position by Governor Greg Abbott, Justice Davis is running to continue his record of fair, principled, and constitutionally grounded service to the people of East Texas. His judicial philosophy remains simple and steadfast: apply the law as written, never legislate from the bench, and uphold the Constitution without fear or favor.

“Throughout my life—whether serving in the United States Air Force, as a community volunteer, or on the bench—I believe that leadership begins with service,” said Justice Davis. “As your appellate justice, I will continue to faithfully interpret the law as written, honor the Constitution, and serve East Texans with integrity and humility.”

Born and raised in Palestine, Davis learned the values of hard work and service while working in his parents’ local hardware and auto parts store. After graduating from Palestine High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served six years with distinction, earning many decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Kosovo Campaign Medal with combat device.

Following his military service, Davis graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University and went on to earn his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. There, he served on the Texas Tech Law Review and Board of Barristers and was recognized nationally for his advocacy achievements.

Returning home to East Texas, Davis built a successful law practice and dedicated his time to serving his community—chairing local boards, volunteering with civic and charitable organizations, and leading through faith. His deep-rooted belief in giving back to others led him to the judiciary, where Governor Abbott appointed him in 2017 to serve as Judge of the 369th Judicial District Court.

For over eight years, Judge Davis presided over thousands of cases guided by his conservative judicial philosophy. His record of fairness and commitment to the rule of law earned him the respect of his peers and the trust of East Texans.

“Service is the foundation of who I am,” Davis continued. “From military service to community service to judicial service, I have always sought to give back to the people and places that shaped me. I am honored by Governor Abbott’s trust and now humbly ask for the continued support of my fellow East Texans to serve a full term on the Twelfth Court of Appeals.”

Justice Davis is the kind of judge Texas needs—disciplined, experienced, and unwavering in his commitment to the Constitution and the people of East Texas.
